Who your child is compared with
ISEE percentile ranks compare a student only with independent-school applicants in the same grade who took the ISEE over the past three years, not with a national sample. That's a stronger group than most tests use, so the same child can land at a lower percentile on the ISEE than on a test compared with all students nationally. What counts as a good score is up to each school.
